When and where is Global Jazz Workshop taking place?
The workshop is scheduled for July 22-28 at Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas.

Will there be performances during the Workshop?
Students who registered for the PRO, Sax and VIP Experiences will have the opportunity to rehearse with an ensemble over the course of the workshop that will culminate in a performance during the GJW Festival on Saturday, July 27 at Monks Jazz Club in Austin, Texas.

What should I bring to the workshop?
Participants will need to bring their instrument, pencils, and any musical accessories specific to their instrument.
While the Workshop takes place indoors, we suggest bringing common summer items including light, breathable clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a reusable water bottle. -
Will large musical instruments like piano, bass and drums be provided?
Basses will be provided for traveling (out of state) students; the Workshop administrative staff will be in touch with local students directly to coordinate whether they will bring their own basses. Keyboards and drum-sets will be provided; student will be required to provide their own sticks, cymbals are optional.

What is the workshop schedule like?
The schedule includes daily sessions from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with breaks for meals and optional jam sessions nightly. Detailed schedules have been provided in the Guide.

Are meals provided during the workshop?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided to those who registered for a Meal Plan upon registration. All other attendees will be responsible for their own meals; small snacks may be available during the day in between sessions.

Is transportation provided to/from the workshop venue?
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the workshop, held at the Hyatt Regency Austin.
Transportation for minors under 18 is available upon request. Arrangements must be requested no later than July 12; please email our team at info@globaljazzworkshop.com.
For the evening special events, shuttle transportation will be provided by the Workshop to Huston-Tillotson University (July 26) and Monks Jazz Club. (July 27) -
What should I do if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
For those who registered for a meal package, please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies so we can accommodate your needs. Prior to the start of the Workshop, our team will send an allergy form via email.

Will there be any free time or recreational activities?
Yes, there will be scheduled free time where you can explore the hotel amenities including their pool, gym and common areas.

Will I have the opportunity to go off-site at the Workshop?
Yes, participants are free to explore the city during their free time outside of workshop hours. However, it is important to do so responsibly and with awareness of personal safety. We encourage everyone to exercise caution, adhere to local laws and regulations, and be mindful of their surroundings while exploring the city. Have fun exploring responsibly!

Is parking available at the workshop venue?
Yes, there is self-parking available at the Hyatt Regency for $30/day. Attendees will coordinate their parking needs directly with the hotel. Additional street parking and garages are available nearby, if preferred.

Can family or friends attend the workshop events?
Attendance is limited to registered participants only; the special events and concerts on the evenings of July 26-27 are open to the public, but may require tickets.
